The historic Roxy Theatre in Northampton was once again filled with the sounds of rock and roll on Thursday night and, thanks to the efforts of VICTIM, Next to None, and Doubting Thoma$, the case has been made for similar shows at the longstanding venue.
The night of rock, hosted by Ann and Andrew of The Balcony radio show, started off with a set from Doubting Thoma$, who mixed in originals like fan favorite “Slate Clean” with covers from bands like Breaking Benjamin and Fuel.
Next to None followed, offering the heaviest and most musically intricate set of the night. The prog-metal foursome used their youthful exuberance to deliver a high-energy set for those in attendance.
Closing the night was VICTIM, who put on a wild show which featured audience participation and a healthy dose of the band’s trademark snarky sense of humor. VICTIM delivered a punch on songs like “RnR,” and had fans singing along on show closer, “Hoodrat.” Both tracks are off of the band’s most recent effort, “Here’s to You.”
