Scratch to Begin Intimate ‘Living Room Sessions’ Series this Saturday
This weekend marks the beginning of a brand-new monthly original music showcase – and, in this season of giving, it’s all for a good cause.
Scratch, Easton Public Market’s popular taproom and pizzeria, will host its first monthly Living Room Sessions showcase this Saturday, December 17 from 6-9 p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be collected throughout the evening to support Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter in Easton.
Local musician Andrew Sheldon, who will be performing at Living Room Sessions under his solo project, Mt. Shasta, originally envisioned the series taking place in his own home. That was when support for the idea began to grow.
“After talking with Karolina (Davis) at Scratch, we thought it was a great opportunity to put together these monthly events,” Sheldon said.
Scratch, which has already been serving up live music for a few months, now provides this unique forum for singer-songwriters – both local and touring – to feature their original work.
“As many great places as there are in Easton – and there seems to be a new, amazing place every weekend – there was really no forum for songwriters to share their material in an intimate setting, outside of the three-song limit of an open mic,” Sheldon said. “We hope to feature lots of local and touring artists over the coming months.”
