A Holiday Message from Lehigh Valley Underground

Today, I want to pause from the chaos of everyday life – from covering shows, editing photos, and reviewing albums – to thank you. We’ve been on quite a ride together in 2016.

It blows my mind to see how, in a year, this idea for a simple local music blog has taken off into something much bigger – and it is, without question, because you all have given us a chance. From the humble beginnings of Lehigh Valley Underground in January, to this moment in time on Christmas Day, I have met so many amazing, talented people who have lent their voices, ideas, and talents to this vision. You have welcomed us into your lives, your venues, and sometimes, even your homes to help us make our music scene brighter and more vibrant than ever before.

As we have supported you, you have supported us. You have shared our content and told your friends about us. You’ve brought us into projects, invited us to sponsor your events, and given us many opportunities to spread the word about what we do.

Recently, you nominated us for eight Lehigh Valley Music Awards. Never in a million years did I expect LVU to be recognized in such a way, especially still in our rookie year. However, your amazing support has led the charge toward us receiving each one of those honors, as well as any potential wins that we may receive in March.

Of course, this tremendous cycle will keep rolling right into 2017. As we continue to help each other, and as we continue to help our community hear each other, we will keep growing and #BuildingBetter together.

I have said from the outset that it takes a scene to build a scene. In 2016, we have laid a strong foundation for what is to come in the months and years ahead.

Thank you for letting us build this scene alongside you.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and have a Happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Gerard Longo
