On Saturday night, we embarked to the other side of the Delaware to visit our good friends at American Spirits Roadhouse. There, local blues musician Dana Gaynor was hosting night two of her winter Jamageddon festival.
Performers at Jamageddon span a variety of styles; from blues and country, to rock and everything in between. We had the privilege of catching three acts on Saturday night: Mary Jane’s Pocket Change, Gonzo Project, and Bones Weedsley, all of whom amazed a full house while showing a propensity to jam during their performances.
Gonzo Project in particular stuck out to me because of their versatility. They mixed synth-heavy, extended instrumental jams into their set along poppier sounding tunes, mixing elements of jazz and psychedelic rock into the mix. The variety in their hour-long set came together so seamlessly and spoke to the talent of the trio, which features Jason Hedrington on keys/synth, Dave Johnsen on bass, and Zach Marten on drums. Here’s a sample for you.
Below, enjoy some photos of this great night, and be sure to join us when we’re back at American Spirits Roadhouse on February 10 for the First Annual Lehigh Valley Underground Winter Jamboree!
