New Vitae Wellness and Recovery, a local organization providing comprehensive residential and outpatient behavioral health services to adults, is teaming up with Cedar Crest College to host Rally in the Valley, a day to support those currently living a lifestyle of recovery.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. According to Rally in the Valley’s official website, the event “will highlight the common ground in recovery for those who struggle with addiction, mental health complications, and health and wellness issues. It will be a day to focus on eliminating barriers, and experience caring across all communities.” The event will feature food, vendors, speakers, and — of course — live music.
The impressive musical lineup for the day features many well-known names around the Valley. These include Scott Marshall & Marshall’s Highway, Billy Bauer Band, Wycked Sober, Copper Fields, and Tim Harakal, who will perform throughout the day in between a list of speakers that includes former NFL player Vance Johnson, McShin Foundation co-founder John Shinholser, and Elisha Coffey, manager of ICAN at the Mental Health Association of Southeastern PA. The day will also feature a special Service Award presentation to Gary Tennis, first Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.
