PHOTOS: Scott Marshall’s Rock & Breakaway from Pediatric Cancer Benefit
A beautiful day in South Bethlehem, just to the west of the Bethlehem Steel Blast Furnaces, provided a picture perfect atmosphere for Rock & Breakaway from Pediatric Cancer, a benefit organized at The Steel Pub by local singer-songwriter Scott Marshall in conjunction with Lehigh Valley Underground, the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association, and Rocking the Valley.
Marshall, who was diagnosed with and battled cancer himself last fall, is no stranger to hosting shows for a cause. The award-winning Americana artist has dedicated his 2017 toward supporting causes involving children, with this and a pediatric cancer benefit preview show taking place within the past month.
A stacked lineup and a packed house made for a cool local music experience; one that brought about a true sense of support and togetherness, while raising money for a number of organizations, including local hospitals and the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley. Artists from across the rock spectrum were warmly welcomed as they took the stage, and the event did wonders to raise awareness for not only pediatric cancer, but for what our music scene is capable of when it’s firing on all cylinders.
Naturally, as soon as a camera became available, we got some photos. Enjoy some shots of Off the Road, Chelsea Lyn Meyer, Paula Battavio, Secret Treaty, Marshall’s Highway, and special guests below!
