A little bit of rain on Friday couldn’t stop the folks at Touchstone Theatre from putting on their long-awaited Jakopa’s Punch Processional.
The theatre company received a helping hand from Zoellner Arts Center — one of their Cirque IT! circus arts festival partners — who invited Touchstone to move the performance inside of the center’s Black Box Theatre while they waited out the storm.
Even with the last-minute location change — the event was intended for the South Bethlehem Greenway — the performance delivered on its promise of being “part circus, part rock concert, part puppet spectacular,” complete with an aerialist, stilt walkers, larger-than-life puppets, pirates, robots, and goat men to supplement the original music of Jakopa’s Punch, the Touchstone Theatre house band.
Weather was more favorable on Saturday, allowing the Processional to move out to the Greenway to close out its short run.
