After a year and a half, we’re still finding new places to go to enjoy live music throughout the Valley. Thursday night took us to a cool spot in South Bethlehem that we’ve been meaning to check out, and we had the opportunity thanks to our friends at Tape Swap Radio.
The champions of the Valley’s DIY scene — who you can hear every Thursday night at 8 p.m. on WLVU: The Sound of The Underground — booked a twin bill of indie rock at Lit Roastery & Bakeshop featuring surf pop band Beach Bod and indie rockers Small Mess.
Each band played quick sets of their original material that were big on sound and chill vibes. One thing I noticed: both bands’ rhythm sections were highlighted by intricate, tight drumming to keep everything on-point.
As for the venue, Lit Roastery & Bakeshop provides a laid-back coffeehouse atmosphere, yet is spacious enough to support live music of almost any kind, whether full band or acoustic. If I were you, I’d keep an eye and an ear out for more events happening there soon…
