Godfrey Daniels, the legendary folk venue on E. 4th St. in South Bethlehem, is about to be injected with the jazz pop stylings of two of the region’s top artists in the genre.
Avi Wisnia, a Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter whose sound is self-described as “Ben Folds meets Norah Jones… if they had a love child in Brazil,” headlines the evening at Godfrey Daniels. Wisnia will play a selection of dynamic original tunes that draw influence from a number of styles, including Brazilian bossa nova, acoustic American folk, 1950’s west-coast jazz, and contemporary pop.
Supporting Avi Wisnia will be Cubbage, a rising star locally whose most recent EP, “Where We Left Off,” received rave reviews when released this past spring. The singer-songwriter also notably kicked off the first-ever Lehigh Valley Underground First Friday Concert Series in September.
The show will begin Friday, November 18 at 8 p.m.. Tickets are $18.50 in advance, and $23.50 at the door. To get yours, visit GodfreyDaniels.org.
