The Lehigh Valley Underground First Friday Concert Series concluded for 2017 with a healthy dose of holiday cheer which included, among other things, charitable work, a fun new pub crawl and — of course — a healthy smattering of live, local music throughout South Bethlehem.
We teamed with our community partners at SouthSide Arts District and Banko Beverage to bring you seven performances across six venues. The night began with Acoustic Blues Project at the Comfort Suites Hill to Hill Grille, continuing on to Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley (Shawn Cav), The Banana Factory (Leah Marie Fuls), Molly’s Irish Grille & Sports Pub (Brian Kibler), and Sotto Santi (Rofo Audio) before concluding with Erin Kelly and Scott Marshall and the Hillbilly Souls (with special guest James Supra) at Godfrey Daniels.
Our evening at Godfrey’s was a particularly special exclamation point on a great year. The performance, a fundraiser for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley, raised more than $400 from those in attendance at the legendary listening room, who heard expert musical precision and versatility across genres including country, blues, bluegrass, and more.
Thank you to all of our performers across South Bethlehem, who made the final First Friday of 2017 one to remember. Thanks as well to our host venues for giving us a place to set up shop, and to our brilliant community partners for helping us make this vision possible every month.
Last, but certainly not least, thank you to Lisa Robinson and Ann Thatcher for helping me (Gerard) capture the evening. Enjoy the view!
