Tape Swap Radio has announced that Psychic Teens, the three-piece post-punk band from Philadelphia, will be performing at the Ice House in Bethlehem on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in a fundraiser for NAMI Lehigh Valley–National Alliance on Mental Illness. Also performing will be Philadelphia/Lehigh Valley hard rockers Big Terrible and Lehigh Valley psychedelic rock band Under the Clothesline. The show is the latest event in Tape Swap Radio’s concert series, which hosts DIY and independent music events throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Described as “a pummeling blend of post-punk and shoegaze” by Fader Magazine, Psychic Teens have previously played with an impressive collection of punk’s heavy hitters like The Dead Milkmen, Zola Jesus, Titus Andronicus, Ceremony, and METZ. Psychic Teens’ most recent full-length album (2016’s Nerve) premiered with an album stream and spotlight in Vice’s Noisey. The band’s most recent release is a 5-song EP, Hex, released in 2017.
Soul-influenced hard rock band Big Terrible have gained some national recognition recently, as well as after the Philadelphia/Lehigh Valley three-piece’s music was featured on the Fox TV series Lethal Weapon, and the CW series The Flash in late 2017.
The show is all-ages, and tickets are available now for $8 through an online pre-sale available at Tape Swap Radio’s website. Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the show for $10, or $8 for those with a current student ID.
Proceeds from the show will be donated to NAMI Lehigh Valley, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by serious mental illness. Tape Swap Radio uses most of its events to raise money for worthy Lehigh Valley causes. To date, Tape Swap Radio’s concert series has raised over $7,000 for local non-profit and community organizations.
