Lehigh Valley Performers Set to Play LAUNCH Music Conference
The 10th annual LAUNCH Music Conference takes place next month in downtown Lancaster. We’ll be heading out there to get edumacated in new music and industry trends.
And, once again, we’ll be in good and familiar company.
A handful of Lehigh Valley-based artists will make the trip to Lancaster not only to take in the teachings of industry professionals all weekend long, but to show what they’ve got to the people in attendance, with select performances throughout the city.
Singer-songwriter Julia Sommer, who recently won four Lehigh Valley Music Awards and performed this winter at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, will be the first to represent the Valley, performing at 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 12 at Marion Court (7 E. Marion St.). Also performing there later in the weekend will be folk-punks Alex Mery & The Townsmen, slated for a 6 p.m. set on Saturday, April 14.
A bit later that evening, former Alex Mery & The Townsmen bassist Kara Hartzell will be doing her solo thing over at Penn Grille at 2 E. King St. Hartzell’s set begins at 10:15 p.m. Capping the night for the Lehigh Valley’s artists – and the festival at Chameleon Club’s Lizard Lounge (223 N. Water St.) – will be punk trio Houston & the Dirty Rats, taking the stage for a late-night set at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 15.
The 10th Annual LAUNCH Music Conference will emanate from downtown Lancaster all weekend long from April 12-15. Weekend and VIP conference passes, as well as full panelist and performer lineups, are available now at launchmusicconference.com.
