Lehigh Valley-based roots rockers The Hook are in the midst of a busy spring. In addition to releasing their full-length debut, “Moonshine & Honey,” last month, the foursome is also featured in our Voices column in the spring edition of Fig Bethlehem (as depicted above).
Through all of this, the band is still finding time to give back.
The quartet will participate in the June 1 edition of the Lehigh Valley Underground First Friday Concert Series at Godfrey Daniels with purpose, donating their time and talents that evening to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The band will play through its “Moonshine & Honey” album in it entirety, and will donate all proceeds generated to the AFSP, a cause close to the band’s hearts after frontman Carlos Barata’s father, João, passed away due to suicide.
This very special edition of #LVUFirstFriday at Godfrey Daniels will feature a $10 suggested donation at the door, and will be presented by LVU in conjunction with our community partners at SouthSide Arts District and Banko Beverage Co.
