We deem it official: festival season has arrived!
At least, it felt that way in Lancaster on Friday night, between a feel-good atmosphere and summer-like temperatures at the first full day of LAUNCH Music Conference.
After a day’s worth of industry education, it came time for Fest Friday, the second annual celebration of independent music that takes place during the festival in Lancaster’s Binn’s Park. All attendees — and the general public, for a $10 door charge — are invited to partake in three stages of music, food trucks, an array of beverage options and, in this case, amazing weather.
My evening was highlighted by a sit-down interview outside a parking garage with Lancaster’s own The Stonewall Vessels, who caught my attention with a unique and captivating performance at this same event in 2017. We chatted about the band’s live shows, their recent tour with Carousel Kings and Gutterlife, and their 2017 release, “Through the Weird and Wild.” Check it out below!
Of course, we caught their electrifying, passionate set — and joined them onstage once again. We also caught many other notable acts, including the soulful, dynamic sounds of Lancaster’s Black Letter Days; the impeccable hip hop delivery of Long Island rapper Marcaux; the fiery, ska-influenced Stacked Like Pancakes; the feel-good vibes of Jaewar & Vibe Riot; and a raw acoustic set from The Stonewall Vessels’ tourmates, Gutterlife.
Take a look below, and be on the lookout here and on Facebook throughout the weekend as we bring you even more from the conference.
