Beyond the Valley: Meet Mike Mains and His Feel-Good Jams
In addition to 10 free performances presented by Lehigh Valley Underground at this weekend’s SouthSide Arts and Music Festival, patrons who purchase a pass at SteelStacks.org will have the opportunity to check out 20+ paid shows from regional- and national-touring artists.
Enter Michigan native Mike Mains into that equation.
Mains, who has performed alongside the likes of Twenty One Pilots and mewithoutyou, will perform as part of the paid stage lineup inside of the Musikfest Cafe this Friday, April 20 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Our early examination of Mike’s music has uncovered feel-good messages and upbeat instrumentals. Recent single “My Way” sees the singer-songwriter gush about a wave of good fortune and positive feelings over a beachy pop instrumental (accompanied by an equally summery video).
Meanwhile, some of Mains’ earlier work with The Branches keeps with this idea, albeit in a different season. The dance rock groove of “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” is coupled with the comforting notion that we are, indeed, still writing our story.
Check out more for yourself and, if you’re so inclined, head on over to the Musikfest Cafe to catch Mike’s set this Friday night.
