Competition heated up on the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmerama stage on Sunday, for Day 2 of the Lehigh Valley Underground Discovery Stage at the Great Pennsylvania Music and Arts Celebration (PennMArt).

We witnessed impressive, four-song sets from local acoustic singer-songwriters including (in order of appearance) Ralph Pagano, Payton Renee, and Julie Williams, who gave our team of judges a difficult choice to make when selecting a winner.

In the end, it was Williams, who impressed with her stage presence and storytelling ability, who earned the right to open the RockNOW! showcase later in the evening featuring Roi and the Secret People, Kill the Broadcast, and Julia Sommer.

All three performers will join Saturday Discovery Stage winners Amojo on Monday from 12-3 p.m. for the Lehigh Valley Underground Discovery Showcase on the Fairgrounds’ Farmerama Stage. The order of performances is as follows:

12 p.m.: Ralph Pagano
12:40 p.m.: Amojo
1:20 p.m.: Payton Renee
2 p.m.: Julie Williams
