From ParkPlatz to Shuttleplatz: How to Get Around Musikfest 2018

Patrons looking for convenient and close access to all the music, food, and fun of Musikfest have more options than ever this year.

New for 2018, Martin Tower satellite parking has moved to 1550 Valley Center Parkway due to construction. Service runs daily Aug. 3-12, with non-stop service shuttles to the North Side of the festival provided by Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc. Hours are Aug. 3, 4:30-11:30 p.m., and Aug. 4-12, 11:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m.

Shuttles to Musikfest’s SouthSide at SteelStacks are also available by parking at Musikfest Central Parking, 240 Emery Street. Service to the SouthSide runs daily 5-11:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Parking at both lots is free. Shuttle cost is $4 per adult, $2 per child ages 3-12 when accompanied by a fare paying adult; and free for children 2 and under. The price includes same-day access to the North-South Transfer Shuttles. New this year, festers can save money and buy a 10-day pack of tickets; tickets are $35 for adults and $15 children ages 3-12. Transfer Shuttles run Aug. 3, 4-11:30 p.m. and Aug. 4-12, noon-11:30 p.m. Tickets are $3 per adult and children ages 12 and under are free.

Moravian College ParkPlatz is also back offering the closest access to the festival with a private parking lot on the college’s South Campus, located in the heart of the festival’s North Side. Parking is limited to 30 vehicles daily and passes are sold on a first come basis. Each parking pass comes with an official Musikfest 2018 collector’s refillable mug, as well as a Moravian College Koozie. Passes, which cost $25 per day, are available in advance only at musikfest.org or 610-332-3378. Access to the Moravian College lot is via Lehigh Street, just west of the intersection of Lehigh and New Streets. All proceeds from parking pass sales go to support Musikfest’s 500 free concerts for the region each year. All parking passes must be picked up the day of the event at the Banana Factory front desk after 10 a.m.

Don’t want to drive in? Ride share drop-off and pickup locations for Musikfest’s North Side are available at the cul-de-sac at Old York Road, Walnut Street Garage and Sakon Plaza near City Hall, while Second Street and Founders Way is the dedicated drop-off and pickup location for the SouthSide.

LANTA also runs additional bus service for Musikfest Aug. 4-13. A loop shuttle operates between North and South Bethlehem, and select routes offer later trips or serve additional locations. The event shuttle bus, which is accessible for people with disabilities, serves the Broad and Guetter Transit Center, the North Side shuttle stop adjacent to Plaza Tropical on Lehigh Street, Sands Resort and SteelStacks.

The event loop shuttle runs Monday-Friday, 4-11:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, noon-11:30 p.m. All LANTA bus stops at Musikfest are accessible for people with disabilities. For schedules and more information on LANTA services visit www.lantabus.com/musikfest.
