PHOTOS: Musikfest 2018, Day 5

We were planning to spend another night on the north side of Musikfest tonight, and that’s how our evening started.

There we were at Plaza Tropical, minding our own business and enjoying a set from eclectic pop/soul seven-piece, Juice, when the heavens opened up. Lightning lit up the sky, and the band’s set was cut short (but not before we got to enjoy and capture some of it).

We wanted to keep our momentum going. So, we headed south, where indoor programming was still raging on. We wound up spending the rest of the night down there, enjoying a couple locals and making a couple of new discoveries in the process, and even sticking around long enough for a set from Marc Broussard that was so incredible, we can’t believe it was free!

We’ll be at SteelStacks again tonight, where plenty of local and regional performers will grace the stages. Until then, here’s our view of the festival’s halfway point.
