Thirty years ago, as a student at Syracuse University, Chicago native and aspiring musician Ken Goldstein visited the Buffalo area and got a glimpse of how the closing of the local steel mill in Lackawanna, N.Y. put thousands out of work and gutted a community. In the ensuing days, he penned a song, “Bethlehem Steel,” that he’s carried with him throughout his career.

It’s true. I am on a boat. It’s heading to the Bahamas, which is decidedly not the Lehigh Valley. Needless to say, I’ll be out of town for a few days. Until St. Patrick’s night, to be exact.

We’ve already begun rolling out the lineup for the #LVUFirstFriday on Friday, April 6. You already read here that Billy Bauer Band will be returning to Godfrey Daniels with special guest Evan Miklosey. Likewise, we told you yesterday that singer-songwriter Jordan White will be stepping in over at Molly’s Irish Grille & Sports Pub.
We’re still working on the finishing touches to April’s lineup, but we can tell you most of what we have in store.
Here at Lehigh Valley Underground, we care about you. We want everyone to feel love. We also want everyone to know about our awesome internet radio station, WLVU, and to enjoy the splendors of great food and drink at The Broadway Social in the process of both of the aforementioned things.
