The Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association (GLVMA) and ArtsQuest are teaming up again to open the Levitt Pavilion season with a quartet of 2018 Lehigh Valley Music Awards winners.
Some of you went back to work today after the first weekend of Musikfest. For those who didn’t – or for those who did, but still are in the ‘Festing spirit – good news: there’s still a lot to like about heading out in Bethlehem today.
For sure, we’ll be at the LVMA Musikfest Country Roots Showcase as a co-presenter, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. But, it is our duty to give you options and spread the love. That’s what we’ll do!
Musikfest Five Point Preview: Monday, August 7

Exactly one year after welcoming Another Day Dawns, Doubting Thoma$, The Cherrybombs, and Social Call to rock the Plaza Tropical stage at Musikfest, the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association and Lehigh Valley Underground will team up once again.
And this time, we’re goin’ country. And roots, of course.
A beautiful day in South Bethlehem, just to the west of the Bethlehem Steel Blast Furnaces, provided a picture perfect atmosphere for Rock & Breakaway from Pediatric Cancer, a benefit organized at The Steel Pub by local singer-songwriter Scott Marshall in conjunction with Lehigh Valley Underground, the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association, and Rocking the Valley.
By Saturday evening, the weather in Bethlehem had cooled off significantly from its July-esque levels on Friday. However, that didn’t stop the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association from hosting its second night of Lehigh Valley Music Awards Winners Preview Weekend on the Levitt Pavilion stage at SteelStacks.
Memorial Day is known nationwide as the unofficial start of summer. At least, that might be the case everywhere except Bethlehem, where the start of the Levitt Pavilion season at SteelStacks got summer underway a week early with the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association’s Winners Preview Weekend.
It can be a tough sell to get people out of their homes on a Tuesday night for an evening on the town. However, Scott Marshall, Rocking the Valley, and a host of artists, organizations, and vendors had no problem doing just that, bringing close to 100 supporters out to the Jetport Bar & Lounge Tuesday night in the name of pediatric cancer awareness.
There’s still almost a week to go until the 18th Annual Lehigh Valley Music Awards Ceremony takes place at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, but there is already a buzz in the air.
We enjoyed our Musikfest rendezvous with the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association so much, we’ve decided it’s time for another round!
Lehigh Valley Underground is proud to sponsor the Third Annual Arts on the Move, taking place on Saturday, November 12 at Touchstone Theater, 321 E. 4th St. in Bethlehem.
Arts on the Move is a fundraiser for the GLVMA, with all proceeds funding the organization’s scholarships, to be awarded at the 18th Annual Lehigh Valley Music Awards on March 5, 2017. The evening will feature live music from local performers Triple G, Project 32, Jordyn Kenzie, and Erin Kelly. In addition, Arts on the Move will host an auction of unique instruments donated by local musicians and styled by local visual artists.
Tickets are $15 and can be found on the GLVMA’s Eventbrite page. For updates and more information, visit Arts on the Move on Facebook, and check back with Lehigh Valley Underground and DustinSchoof.com in the weeks leading up to the event.
