The Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association (GLVMA) and ArtsQuest are teaming up again to open the Levitt Pavilion season with a quartet of 2018 Lehigh Valley Music Awards winners.
On this edition of The Quinn Spinn on WLVU, we welcome Ricardo Flores, President of The Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association, to discuss the upcoming Lehigh Valley Music Awards at SteelStacks on Sunday, March 4.
The day after 2018 begins, Lehigh Valley Music Awards season will kick into high gear.
Monday evening had just begun to clear out before we arrived on the scene for the Lehigh Valley Music Awards Musikfest Country Roots Showcase, presented by Lehigh Valley Underground. It was just before 6 p.m. and, after checking in with Ricardo Flores from the GLVMA, I decided that there was some time to hit another stage before setting up our table.
Exactly one year after welcoming Another Day Dawns, Doubting Thoma$, The Cherrybombs, and Social Call to rock the Plaza Tropical stage at Musikfest, the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association and Lehigh Valley Underground will team up once again.
And this time, we’re goin’ country. And roots, of course.
A beautiful day in South Bethlehem, just to the west of the Bethlehem Steel Blast Furnaces, provided a picture perfect atmosphere for Rock & Breakaway from Pediatric Cancer, a benefit organized at The Steel Pub by local singer-songwriter Scott Marshall in conjunction with Lehigh Valley Underground, the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association, and Rocking the Valley.
By Saturday evening, the weather in Bethlehem had cooled off significantly from its July-esque levels on Friday. However, that didn’t stop the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association from hosting its second night of Lehigh Valley Music Awards Winners Preview Weekend on the Levitt Pavilion stage at SteelStacks.

It can be a tough sell to get people out of their homes on a Tuesday night for an evening on the town. However, Scott Marshall, Rocking the Valley, and a host of artists, organizations, and vendors had no problem doing just that, bringing close to 100 supporters out to the Jetport Bar & Lounge Tuesday night in the name of pediatric cancer awareness.
Now that Allentown JazzFest has once again come and gone, we find ourselves at the beginning of a week that features many reasons to celebrate.
Celebrate with us, if you would, by attending any number of these…
